Facing the Giant
Holy Spirit spoke to me about David when he came up against Goliath. This giant was like nothing David had ever seen or confronted before. David had killed a lion and a bear but this uncircumcised Philistine was huge, massive and fearful; like nothing David had ever encountered before.
But David knew something that all the rest of the Israelite army obviously didn’t know. He said “who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God”.
David chose five smooth stones and his sling and ran toward the giant. Goliath said “Am I a dog that you come to me with sticks”?
David said “You come to me with a sword and shield and a spear but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel”.
As soon as David said, ”I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts” -Goliath was a dead man. It was done; he was a dead man walking.
Then David brought about the manifestation when he smote the Philistine in the forehead with that sling and stone. But Goliath was already done for because David had stepped aside when he said “I come to you in the Name of the Lord”. David handed the situation over to the Lord, and at that moment- Goliath was doomed.
Then God used David’s skills as a marksman to bring about the manifestation into the natural. David took off the giants head.
God showed me Coronavirus has been like a Goliath. Everyone feared; It’s like somethings never seen or experienced before. It’s big, it’s formidable, it’s intimidating, and it’s tormenting. It will kill you. And the spirit of fear spreads.
Run; it’s got 12 toes and 12 fingers. It’s from Wuhan. Run for the hills. Wear a mask; close the church; quarantine; get a vaccine; get boosters; stay 6 feet away from each other. Paralyzing fear!
But God spoke and said it’s just like any other problem or situation or giant. It’s powerless; it cannot hold you bound as you commit it to God. You come to me with a cold or a flu or a fever but I come to you, in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of the Lord.
What giant stands in front of you intimidating you? You’re in fear and dread and it looks hopeless. Oh this is bad. I’ve never faced anything like this before.
This giant, this problem is just like every other situation you faced in your life. It may look more intimidating; have different symptoms; be unfamiliar. But here’s the facts: it is powerless like every other problem you face when you come at it with faith, in the name of the Lord of hosts. Commit it to God; speak to the mountain in the name of the Lord. Stand in faith; get out of the way and wait for further instruction from Heaven. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!
