What Has Your Heart?
In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus makes a profound and chilling statement that should cause everyone professing to be a Christian, to stop in their tracks, inventory and inspect our lives.
Our lives and our hearts should be held under the microscope of God’s Holy Word and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said “Not everyone that says unto Me, Lord, Lord shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”” Many will say to Me in that day- “Lord, have we not done this and have we not done that?” But Lord – didn’t You see me; didn’t You notice me in church and didn’t You note that I gave money and I spoke up for You Lord those times? Lord didn’t l…..?
And Jesus then said “I never knew you“ I never had your heart.
Yes, but Lord – Your Word says “if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in our heart, that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.”
Jesus may say – I heard your words. You say you believe, and yet you continually doubt Me. You don’t trust Me to care for you. I’ve given you My Word and promise to provide, and yet you continue to live your life on your terms, basically ignoring Me and yet with your lips, you say you love Me.
In that day – I will have no other choice, but to say “Depart, for I never knew you.” You never really trusted Me to Father you and to watch over you and to protect and provide, love and care for you. You didn’t trust Me, so how can you say you believe? I never knew you. Everything else had your heart and your attention, but not the one who formed you in your mothers womb.
Many other lovers had your heart-possessions, sports, technology, homes, parties, this worlds celebrities, but not the Lord of all.
Can I encourage you today, this very moment? Say to the Lord, who loves you, with all sincerity and honesty, not just with words, but believing.” Lord, take possession of all of me. Have me for Your own. You’re all I desire!”
